Christine Budd
Instructor
Christine has always had a passion for health and wellness focusing on a balance of mind, body & spirit. Early on she danced and performed with the Washington School of Ballet for 11 years. With her interest in how the body functions, she went on to major in biology at Virginia Tech. Following college, she continued her active lifestyle engaging in weight training, competitive volleyball, personal training and yoga. She eventually developed some discomfort in her lower back, shoulder and neck. While on an extended trip away from her home gym, she decided to try Pilates in 2022. She quickly fell in love with the pointed toes and long body lines of Pilates that brought back memories of her time with ballet. She found her discomfort was quickly alleviated and after just 6 months of classes, she knew she was hooked and decided to share her enthusiasm. She enrolled in the Right Balance Pilates Reformer Teacher Training Program and successfully completed the program in early 2023. She feels passionate about feeling good, aging with independence, living a vibrant and functional life, and helping others do the same.
While not at the studio, Christine continues developing her passions for a healthy lifestyle, cooking, painting and spending time with her husband Larry, dog Marlin and 2 young adult sons when they are in town. She is also the Vice President and co-owner of the Coastal Fisherman Newspaper primarily as its recipe editor and supports distribution.
