Mat Pilates Teacher Training

The Right Balance Pilates Mat Teacher Training Program is an engaging, in-studio education experience designed to develop confident, thoughtful, and well-prepared Pilates instructors. Delivered through four thoughtfully designed modules, participants receive eight hours of in-studio instruction per module, for a total of thirty-two hours of hands-on, guided training.

Right Balance Pilates is proud to be the only state-licensed Pilates education center in Delaware, led by experienced educators with over thirty years of combined teaching and training experience. Our program is grounded in the integrity of practice, meaningful learning, and real-world teaching preparation, offered in a supportive, welcoming environment where instructors-in-training can truly grow.

Program Requirements

Alongside the in-studio modules, trainees complete the following self-study and practice hours. All hours are logged and signed off by a lead instructor. Plan for two to four hours per week of outside-class time for reading, practice, and logged hours.

  • Class Observation: two hours

  • Assistant Teaching: one hour

  • Supervised Teaching: one hour

  • Physical Self-Mastery: four hours

  • Group Classes: participation in scheduled group classes

  • Required Reading: completion of all assigned texts

  • Exams: passing grade on practical and written exams (passing score is 80 percent)

Who Can Apply

Many of our graduates come from movement-adjacent backgrounds including yoga, dance, fitness, and healthcare. Multiple Right Balance Pilates instructors began their teaching careers through this program.

This program is built for movers who are ready to take the next step into teaching Mat Pilates. To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Have a basic understanding of anatomy and the Pilates industry

  • Have completed a minimum of one month of regular Pilates sessions
