Why We Choose the Balanced Body Allegro 2 Reformer
World-class equipment. Purposefully chosen to help Every Body move better.
When you walk into any Right Balance Pilates studio, you’ll notice something almost immediately.
The studios feel bright. The movement feels intentional. And every Reformer glides with a quiet confidence that allows you to focus completely on your body.
None of that happened by accident.
When we built our studios, we didn’t simply purchase Pilates equipment. We made a deliberate investment in the experience we wanted every client to have. That’s why every one of our studios is equipped with the Balanced Body Allegro 2 Reformer, widely recognized as one of the most innovative and trusted Reformers in the Pilates profession.
Choosing the Allegro 2 wasn’t about having the newest equipment. It was about creating an environment where beginners feel confident, experienced movers continue to grow, and every client receives the safest, most supportive Pilates experience possible.
Because when we ask someone to trust us with their movement, their recovery, or their long-term wellness, we believe they deserve equipment that reflects that same commitment.
Why Balanced Body?
In the world of Pilates, Balanced Body has earned a reputation as the industry’s gold standard.
Their equipment is found in leading Pilates studios, rehabilitation clinics, universities, and teacher training programs around the world. Their commitment to innovation, quality, and education has helped shape modern Pilates for decades.
That philosophy closely aligns with our own.
Right Balance Pilates is proud to be Delaware’s only state-licensed Pilates education center, and we believe exceptional instruction deserves exceptional equipment. Our instructors continuously refine their skills, and our clients deserve Reformers designed to support that same level of excellence.
The Balanced Body Allegro 2 isn’t simply where our classes happen, it’s an extension of how we teach.
Built for Every Body
One of the most rewarding parts of teaching Pilates is that no two clients are exactly alike.
On any given day, our instructors may work with someone taking their very first Pilates class, someone returning after physical therapy, an avid golfer looking to improve mobility, a runner preparing for their next race, or an experienced mover progressing into more advanced exercises.
Different bodies require different approaches and that’s exactly what the Allegro 2 was designed to support.
Rather than forcing every client into the same setup, the equipment allows our instructors to quickly customize your experience so the Reformer works with your body, your movement ability, and your goals.
It’s one of the many reasons our Intro, Level 1, Level 1.5, and Level 2 class progression feels so approachable while still offering room for continuous growth.
Designed to Fit Your Body. Not the Other Way Around.
One of the Allegro 2’s most innovative features is its Infinity Footbar®.
Unlike traditional Reformers with limited adjustment options, the Infinity Footbar slides nearly the full length of the machine while also offering multiple height positions.
That flexibility allows our instructors to personalize your setup in seconds.
For a beginner, that may mean creating a more stable and comfortable starting position. For someone recovering from an injury, it can provide thoughtful modifications that reduce unnecessary strain while still allowing meaningful movement. For advanced movers, it opens the door to entirely new exercises, movement patterns, and athletic challenges.
Instead of asking your body to adapt to the equipment, the equipment adapts to you. That philosophy is central to everything we do at Right Balance Pilates.
Movement Should Feel Effortless
The first thing many clients notice about the Allegro 2 isn’t what they see.
It’s what they don’t hear.
The carriage glides quietly and smoothly on Balanced Body’s precision carriage system, creating an effortless movement experience that allows you to focus on your breathing, posture, alignment, and control. There’s no unnecessary resistance from the equipment itself.
Every glide feels fluid. Every transition feels natural.
That smooth ride does more than create a premium experience. It allows our instructors to coach movement with greater precision while helping clients develop the body awareness that makes Pilates so effective. When movement feels natural, learning becomes easier.
Small Adjustments Make a Big Difference
Pilates is built on precision. Sometimes the smallest adjustment creates the biggest improvement in how a movement feels.
The Allegro 2 makes those adjustments fast, quiet, and seamless.
Its SoftTouch™ Rope System allows instructors to quickly adjust rope lengths with a simple lever, minimizing interruptions and allowing classes to flow naturally from one exercise to the next.
The ergonomically designed shoulder rests remove easily when needed. The adjustable headrest helps support proper alignment. Comfortable padded loops provide secure hand and foot placement throughout class.
Every detail has been thoughtfully engineered to remove distractions so you can stay connected to your movement.
Strength That Progresses With You
One of the greatest misconceptions about Pilates is that more resistance always means a harder workout.
In reality, Pilates is much smarter than that. Sometimes heavier springs provide support. Sometimes lighter springs require significantly more control, balance, and precision.
The Allegro 2 includes five Balanced Body Signature Springs that allow our instructors to fine-tune resistance for every exercise and every client.
As your confidence grows, the equipment grows with you.
What begins as foundational movement during a Basic class may eventually evolve into advanced balance work, athletic sequences, or powerful jump board exercises in Cardio Sculpt.
Progress isn’t about making movement harder. It’s about making movement better.
Comfortable Equipment Builds Confident Movers
We understand that starting something new can feel intimidating.
Many of our clients arrive wondering if they’re strong enough, flexible enough, coordinated enough, or simply “the Pilates type.” Our answer is always the same.
Pilates is for Every Body.
The thoughtful design of the Allegro 2 helps reinforce that message from your very first class.
Its integrated carriage, supportive surfaces, textured Infinity Footbar®, ergonomic shoulder rests, and adjustable components create an experience that feels welcoming rather than intimidating. Instead of wrestling with unfamiliar equipment, clients quickly discover that the Reformer becomes a partner in their movement.
More Than Fitness. Movement That Supports Life.
The goal of Pilates isn’t simply to become better at Pilates. It’s to move through life more confidently.
Every feature of the Allegro 2 supports the kind of functional movement that carries beyond our studio walls.
You may notice it when you’re carrying groceries, walking the beach, playing pickleball, swinging a golf club, climbing stairs or lifting grandchildren.
Those everyday moments are why we teach Pilates.
Building strength, mobility, balance, and body awareness allows you to continue doing the things you love with greater ease and confidence.
World-Class Equipment. Exceptional Instruction.
Even the finest Pilates equipment is only as good as the people teaching on it.
At Right Balance Pilates, our instructors bring diverse backgrounds in Pilates education, physical therapy, nursing, athletics, yoga, rehabilitation, and movement science. Every class is guided by professionals who understand how to modify exercises, challenge experienced movers, and create an environment where every client feels supported.
The Allegro 2 gives our instructors the tools to individualize your experience while maintaining the seamless flow that makes Pilates both effective and enjoyable.
Together, exceptional instruction and exceptional equipment create something greater than either could alone.
